Sentinext Therapeutics has been established to develop safe and efficacious vaccines and therapeutics for tropical infectious diseases.

While infectious diseases were long believed to be under control thanks to the use of antibiotics and vaccines, the reality today is that more and more pathogens are becoming resistant to therapeutic intervention, and that novel pathogens are constantly emerging for which no vaccines or treatment are available. Examples range from new variants of known pathogens - i.e. bird flu and swine flu - to entirely new pathogens that have emerged over the past 25 years, such as SARS, EV71, Nipah virus and HIV. At the same time, known pathogens, for which there may or may not exist vaccines, continue to spread - for example JEV, dengue, malaria and TB.

Sentinext Therapeutics focuses on developing vaccines and therapeutics for EV71, dengue and JE.
