A TEAM DEDICATED TO GLOBAL HEALTH SOLUTIONS
Sentinext Therapeutics, based Penang Malaysia, has been established to develop safe and efficacious vaccines and therapeutics for tropical infectious diseases.

While infectious diseases  were long believed to be under control by antibiotics and vaccines, the reality today is that more and more pathogens become resistant to therapeutic intervention and novel pathogens constantly emerge for which no vaccines or treatment are available. Examples range from new variants of known pathogens, i.e. bird flu and swine flu, to entirely new pathogens, which have emerged over the past 25 years such as SARS, EV71, Nipah virus and HIV. At the same time known pathogens for which there may or may not exist vaccines continue to spread, for example JEV, dengue and TB.

Sentinext Therapeutics will focus on developing vaccines and therapeutics for EV71, malaria, dengue and JE.

Vision and strategy
It is Sentinext’ vision to build a vaccine and immunotherapy company, which in a 10 years horizon will become a significant player in the Asia Pacific, and will be recognized for its expertise of the infectious diseases of the region. In addition Sentinext will be a significant player in the global travellers vaccine market with out-license agreements with global vaccine companies.

To achieve its goals Sentinext will initially focus on two projects, one project already in late preclinical development will be developed through a partnership with an internationally recognized organization in the vaccine field, and the second will start from preclinical research stage in our own laboratories in Penang.

To further support achievement of its goals Sentinext will pursue an active in-licensing and collaboration strategy to broaden its early and later project portfolio as well as its technology base.

A further strategic focus area will be to build an organisation which will be able to comply with all technical and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical product development.
